Guerlain L'Heure Bleue Parfum (30ml)
The sun has set, but night has not yet fallen. It’s the suspended hour… The hour when one finally finds oneself in renewed harmony with the world and the light. L’Heure Bleue is the moment when the sun disappears beneath the horizon and the sky is painted with night’s velvet. It is an atmosphere, an inexpressible rendering exceptional moments.
L’Heure Bleue was born in 1912 of the fleeting sensation that inspired the Impressionist painters whose works Jacques Guerlain collected. He pictured this bouquet of roses softened with iris, violet and vanilla, which evoke his favorite moment of the day when, as he put it, “the night has not yet found its star” and all of nature’s elements are cast in blue light.
A Perfume Suspended in Time
The perfume both suggests and imposes the memory of she who wears it… she is an elegant, tender woman of secret sensuality. An armful of suave and delicate flowers enveloped in a breath of powder takes wing toward oriental notes. Floral, aromatic and very romantic, L’Heure Bleue can be qualified as a true masterpiece, a monument in the history of perfumery. Emotion in its purest state comes in a bottle designed by George Chevalier. Underscored with graceful, the body of L’Heure Bleue echoes the scrolls that are typical of Art Nouveau. Its avant-garde stopper, in the form of a hollowed heart, evokes romanticism and represented a real technical feat at the time.
Floral Oriental Endearing, Unsettling, Captivating The top notes of the fragrance sweeps you into the freshness of bergamot and the audacity of an aniseed note. The heart’s carnation and neroli accord intoxicates with a little spice, a little freshness and a lot of sensuality. Most troubling is the powdery, oriental dry-down that gives L’Heure Bleue its suave fragrance, in the powdery note of iris and violet, and the gourmand note of vanilla benzoin and Tonka bean. The perfume, enveloped in velvety warmth takes on a texture so soft and captivating, it’s like a silk veil on a woman’s bare skin.
Perfume, which is also called an Extract, is the most concentrated and therefore the most faithful version of a perfume. Created to be in osmosis with the skin, an Extract creates a unique alchemy upon contact with the skin and expresses itself differently on every woman. A few drops applied on the inside of the wrists and elbows, at the base of the neck, at the roots of the hair or in the hollow of the décolleté will reveal their presence with the movements of their wearer and the passage of time without ever becoming overpowering.
